Tragic incident occurred in Balochistan’s Zhob district on Thursday, where seven people lost their lives, including a tribal elder and his two brothers, after their vehicle was sprayed with bullets. The incident took place in the Khurlam area of Murgha Kibzai, located around 80 kilometers from Zhob town. According to Levies officials, Ahmed Khan Kibzai, along with his two brothers and some other people, was traveling in his vehicle when they were ambushed. Unidentified shooters hiding in nearby mountains opened fire on their vehicle using automatic weapons, killing seven people on the spot, while one person sustained injuries.
The victims tried to escape from the vehicle but were unsuccessful in saving their lives, as the shooters were relentless. The bodies of Mr. Kibzai and his two brothers were charred after the vehicle caught fire due to the firing.
After receiving information about the incident, Levies officials rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the district hospital in Zhob. Hospital sources confirmed that they received seven bodies and one injured, all of whom died due to multiple bullet injuries.
The cause of the killings is still unknown, and the authorities are investigating the incident. Officials stated that Ahmed Khan Kibzai was wanted in many cases by the Levies Force and was an absconder. He also had tribal enmity, which could be a possible motive for the attack.
The six other victims were identified as Wahid Khan Kibzai, Abdul Manan Kibzai, Naik Mohammad Badeenzai, Sultan Khan Badeenzai, Fazal Rehman Kibzai, and Najibuddin Kibzai. The injured person in the incident was identified as Jalal Khan.
The incident has left the entire community in shock and mourning, and the authorities have assured that they will leave no stone unturned in bringing the culprits to justice.
