Telenor SMS Packages
Telenor's SMS bundles are the cheapest in Pakistan — from a Rs. 4 daily 300-message bundle to a monthly 10,000-SMS plan at Rs. 130.
Telenor SMS packages are the most affordable in Pakistan today. Telenor has historically been the network of choice for high-volume SMS users — particularly small business owners in tier-two cities — and the operator has kept SMS bundle pricing aggressive even as the rest of the market has slowly moved away from text messaging.
When a Telenor SMS bundle makes sense
Telenor SMS bundles are a clear win for:
- Bulk senders — small shops, beauty parlours, tutors who text customers frequently.
- Two-factor authentication heavy users — people who receive ten or more OTPs a day (these are free to receive but they often need to reply).
- Anyone whose communication partner uses a basic phone without WhatsApp.
- Users in remote areas where mobile data is unreliable — SMS works on weaker signal than 4G data does.
If you only send a handful of texts per week, you do not need a bundle. Pay-as-you-go at Rs. 1.99 per SMS works out to less than Rs. 20 a week for ten messages.
Before subscribing — a few checks
Telenor SMS bundles are almost entirely on-net. That means the SMS count applies only to messages sent to other Telenor numbers. Off-net messages (to Jazz, Ufone, Zong, PTCL) are usually deducted from your main balance at the standard rate, even with an active bundle. Read the small print before subscribing — some larger Telenor bundles do include off-net SMS but most do not.
Character encoding matters more than people realise. A plain English SMS of up to 160 characters counts as one message. An Urdu SMS counts as one message only if it stays under 70 characters — beyond that, it splits into two or three messages automatically and burns through your bundle faster.
If you are using your number to send commercial SMS (sale promotions, rate updates), be aware that Telenor — like all Pakistani networks — has automated spam detection. A single number sending the same or similar text to more than 50 contacts in an hour will get throttled or temporarily blocked. The bundle does not bypass this restriction.
The final practical point: Telenor SMS bundles do not pause when you are abroad. If you travel and your bundle has not expired, it just sits unused while international SMS rates apply to any roaming texts.
Telenor SMS bundles in 2026
The bundles below are the standard nationwide Telenor SMS offers. Smaller regional bundles also exist in some districts but are not in this list because they are not available to every Telenor customer.
| Package | SMS count | Validity | Price | Code |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daily SMS Bundle | 300 on-net SMS | 24 hours | Rs. 3.99 | *345*116# |
| Daily SMS Plus | 600 on-net + Free WhatsApp | 24 hours | Rs. 7 | *345*144# |
| Weekly SMS Bundle | 1,200 on-net SMS | 7 days | Rs. 18 | *345*112# |
| Weekly SMS Plus | 1,800 SMS + 200 MB | 7 days | Rs. 40 | *345*112*1# |
| Monthly SMS Bundle | 4,000 on-net SMS | 30 days | Rs. 60 | *345*113# |
| Monthly SMS Mega | 10,000 SMS + 500 MB | 30 days | Rs. 130 | *345*113*1# |
Telenor's Monthly SMS Mega at Rs. 130 for 10,000 messages is the single cheapest SMS deal in Pakistan as of 2026 — that works out to 1.3 paisa per SMS. If you are a high-volume sender, this is the pricing benchmark to beat.
How activation works
- Confirm balance
Dial
*444#to check your current balance. Bundle prices start at under Rs. 4 — small enough that you can subscribe even with a low balance — but the system still needs the full amount available. - Dial the bundle code
Enter the exact code from the table. Telenor SMS codes typically begin with
*345*1. Press the call button. The response usually comes within ten seconds. - Follow the on-screen confirmation if needed
Some Telenor codes show an interactive menu asking you to press 1 to confirm. Read it carefully — the menu sometimes offers a bundle upgrade. Pick the option matching what you originally wanted.
- Use the SMS immediately
There is no warmup period. The first message you send after activation is deducted from the bundle, not from your main balance. If your first SMS post-activation still deducts the standard rate, the bundle did not activate — re-dial the code.
Telenor SMS — common confusions
SMS in Pakistan in 2026 — a quick reality check
Despite the rise of WhatsApp and other messaging apps, SMS in Pakistan still sees billions of messages per month. The bulk of that volume is operational — OTP delivery, bank alerts, delivery notifications, government service confirmations. For end users, the role of SMS has narrowed to communicating with people who do not use smartphones (typically elderly relatives) and to small business outreach where a quick text gets read faster than a WhatsApp message buried under fifty unread chats.
Telenor's SMS bundle pricing reflects this — they are cheaper than they have ever been because demand for high-volume SMS is concentrated in a smaller, more price-sensitive market. The bundles listed above are valid as of mid-2026; pricing can shift quarterly. Always verify via *345# on the day you subscribe.
One practical note about reception: incoming SMS is always free in Pakistan, regardless of which network or country it comes from. The bundle only deducts when you send a message. So if you primarily receive SMS (parents texting you, OTPs from banks, delivery confirmations) and rarely respond, you do not need any bundle at all — pay-as-you-go is free for what you actually use.
