PTCL Internet Packages

PTCL home internet covers more of Pakistan than any other provider. Here are the current packages with speeds, prices and what is included.

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is the country's largest fixed-line internet provider by subscriber count. They cover essentially every major city and most smaller towns, with infrastructure ranging from old copper telephone lines (DSL) in older neighbourhoods to fully-fiber (FTTH) connections in newer areas. PTCL's broadband offering is the default choice for many Pakistani households simply because no other provider reaches their area.

Who PTCL broadband works for

PTCL broadband is the right choice for these households:

PTCL is less suitable for users who absolutely cannot afford downtime — small business operators, remote workers running long video calls, online traders. For zero-downtime needs in the Twin Cities, Nayatel is more reliable; in Karachi or Lahore, StormFibre or Optix may be better choices.

Things worth knowing about PTCL

The first thing to check is which technology PTCL offers at your address — DSL or fiber. DSL uses your existing telephone line and tops out at around 20 Mbps even on a perfect line. Fiber is much faster (up to 250 Mbps) and more reliable, but is only available in newer areas or where PTCL has upgraded the local infrastructure. Call PTCL's 1218 helpline with your address to confirm which technology is available before signing up.

The second thing is the contract structure. PTCL offers both month-to-month and annual contracts. Annual contracts get a 10% to 15% discount on the monthly fee but lock you in — early termination involves paying out the remainder of the contract. Most users start with month-to-month, then switch to annual once they have confirmed the service quality at their location.

The third thing is the Smart TV bundle decision. PTCL Smart TV (also called IPTV) is delivered over the same line as your internet and adds about Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 monthly depending on the channel pack. Worth considering if you want local Pakistani channels and your household watches conventional TV. Most younger users skip it in favour of YouTube Premium or Netflix.

The fourth thing is customer service quality, which has improved noticeably since 2023 but still varies widely by city. Karachi and Lahore generally have responsive support. Smaller cities sometimes see slower resolution times. Persistent issues can be escalated via the PTCL app's complaint tracker or by visiting a Customer Service Centre in person.

PTCL home internet packages

The packages below are PTCL's main residential offerings as of 2026. Speed availability depends on whether your area has DSL or fiber — speeds above 30 Mbps generally require fiber. The Business Lite tier is included because some small home offices may need its static IP and faster support response.

PTCL home internet packages with bundled landline and IPTV
PackageSpeedMonthly feeSetup feeIncludes
Smart Lite10 MbpsRs. 2,499Rs. 2,500Unlimited data + landline
Smart Plus30 MbpsRs. 3,499Rs. 2,500Unlimited data + landline + Smart TV starter
Power50 MbpsRs. 4,599Rs. 2,500Unlimited data + landline + Smart TV starter
Power Plus100 MbpsRs. 6,599Rs. 2,500Unlimited data + landline + Smart TV full pack
Ultra250 MbpsRs. 9,999Rs. 2,500Unlimited data + landline + Smart TV full pack + EVO backup
Business Lite20 MbpsRs. 4,499Rs. 3,500Unlimited data + static IP + priority support

If you sign up for a package faster than your line physically supports (for example, a 100 Mbps plan on an old copper line), PTCL will provision the connection but you will only actually receive whatever the line can carry. Always confirm fiber availability before paying for a high-speed package.

How to get PTCL internet installed

  1. Check availability at your address

Call 1218 from any phone, or visit ptcl.com.pk and use the Coverage Check tool. Provide your full address. The system confirms whether DSL or fiber is available and which package speeds your line can support.

  2. Submit application online or at a service centre

Online application via ptcl.com.pk is fastest. You will need a CNIC scan, your full address, a contact number, and the package you want. The application generates a tracking number you can use to monitor progress.

  3. Site survey and installation scheduling

Within five to seven working days, a PTCL technician visits to verify your address and line. If everything is fine, they schedule installation typically within another five days. If the line needs work, the timeline extends to two or three weeks.

  4. Installation and first bill

The installation team runs the cable into your house, installs the modem or ONT, configures your Wi-Fi, and tests speeds. Setup typically takes one to three hours. You pay the setup fee on the day; the first monthly bill arrives 30 days later.

PTCL internet — common questions

A note on PTCL's network transition

PTCL has been gradually replacing its legacy copper telephone infrastructure with fiber over the past decade. The transition is uneven — some neighbourhoods completed the upgrade by 2020 while others still rely on copper lines from the 1990s. The result is that PTCL's effective service quality varies enormously by location, even within the same city.

If you have an old copper line at your address, the practical speed cap is around 15-20 Mbps regardless of which package you pay for. If you have fiber, you can subscribe to the higher tiers and actually receive the advertised speeds. The Coverage Check tool on ptcl.com.pk reliably tells you which technology is at your address — use it before paying for anything above the Smart Plus tier.

Prices and speeds in the table above reflect PTCL's standard early-2026 residential tariffs. Business and dedicated-bandwidth plans are priced separately. Promotional offers (Eid specials, Independence Day discounts) can reduce the setup fee or the first few months' rates — worth waiting for if you are not in a rush.
